But in principle I no reason why a stereo signal traveling over HDMI couldn't have a straightforward conversion into a stereo S/PDIF signal, and be happily played by the Arcam. Try opening Sound in the Control Panel and set Speakers ... as the default. Likely it's Realtek Audio.
